Georgia State University hosted the third sPHENIX Collaboration meeting, December 15–17, 2016, in Atlanta, Georgia.  Sixty collaborators came together to discuss the physics of sPHENIX and the progress on the project.  We allso discuss the outstanding news that the Department of Energy granted sPHENIX CD-0 at the end of September, meaning that sPHENIX gradutates from a proposed project to one that the DOE plans to build.
