How long have you been working in sPHENIX and at what institution?
I belong to Rikkyo university. I started to join this experiment when I was an undergraduate student and it has been about two years since then.
What is the focus of your work on the sPHENIX experiment?
Still not decided yet, but I'm interested in spin physics, single spin asymmetry. Currently I'm thinking about what is a good way to do track reconstruction with INTT and EMCal. I'd be glad if someone could teach me about that...
Where did you grow up and what is your educational background before your current position?
I grew up in Yokohama, Japan, where I still live. This is my first time participating in an experiment, so I do not have much research background yet.
How did you decide to go into heavy ion or spin research?
I was attracted to a large accelerator. In my university, there's not so many big projects or experiments like sPHENIX.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I usually play games, cook, and jog. I'm not so much interested in eating what I cook, but cooking something new is interesting. I'm so surprised that many of the researchers around me do triathlons...
Fun fact?
Finally I succeeded in cooking ramen from scratch! Next thing I want to do is to cook sponge cake without cake flour from Japan. The important thing for the softness of the sponge is the density of protein in the cake flour.
